Mayor and Rotarian Hank Ross was guest speaker. Hank talked about the important sales tax election.
At the 1-27-2011 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha, members heard fellow Rotarian and Chickasha Mayor Hank Ross brief the club about the Feb. 8 sales tax election. Hank told members it was crucial that the quarter-cent tax be extended so that the city council could continues its economic development efforts. He said a portion of the money would also be used for downtown improvements. He said a second proposition would fund scholarships for students at USAO. Hank's guest at the meeting was Economic Development Director Max McKnight who helped Hank field questions. Other guests at the meeting included Suhzan Mosley, wife of Rotarian Chris Mosley. Mrs. Mosely was there representing the Chickasha High School PTO, which received a $250 donation for President Mark Tibbetts on behalf of the Club. Mark also presented a $250 check to Rotarian Jerry Pittman, president of the Chickasha Public School Foundation. Prayer concerns included Dr. David Hall Sr. and George Tiner on the passing of his mother. The meeting was adjourned after recitation of the 4-Way test.
