The November 29, 2018 meeting was called to order by Pres. John Gorton.  The prayer was provided by Rot. Larry Brown and the pledge by Rot. Conrad Duprez.  Our talented music leader, Rot. Mitch Williams, started the Christmas season off with the song “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer”.  The Rotarian of the Day was Lewis Knisley who introduced Sharlotte Key, Executive Director with the Washita Valley Action Center.  Catering was provided by Chicken Express.

Sharlotte Key, Executive Director for Washita Valley Action Council

Sharlotte Key began her employment with Washita Valley Community Action Council in October 1977.  She worked her way up to become Executive Director in January 2003. 
 
Ms. Key has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma.  She is also a Certified Community Action Professional.
 
Ms. Key served on the Community Action Region VI Board of Directors for eight years. She has also served as secretary, first Vice-President, President, and now Past President of the Oklahoma Association of Community Action Agencies.  She was a member of the Oklahoma Head Start Early Childhood Collaboration Advisory Board.  She served on the Oklahoma Transportation Personal Travel Advisory Committee.  She has also served on the Oklahoma Weatherization and Housing Advisory Committee.
 
Ms. Key received the Fred Tucker Award for Leadership at the Oklahoma Association of Community Action Agencies Conference in September. During the last fifteen years as Executive Director along with the Board of Directors and staff has seen the challenges, changes, and growth to the federal and state programs administered by WVCAC.
 
Ms. Key resides in Chickasha with her husband of 49 years and Bergen, her two year old Shih Tzu.
