3-31-2011 Rotary meeting

The 3-31-2011 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha opened with prayer, pledge and song. The club has two new member applicants -- Tia Murray and Phillip Went. Prayer concerns include Ed Chamberlain, Janice McVey and Steve LaForge. The club received a thank you card from Mrs. Marcene Hall, who of Rotarian David C. Hall Sr. who recently died. Rotary Dist. 5770 Membership Chair Bob Dill visited and spoke about district conference to be held in Norman April 14,15 and 16. The keynote speaker will be OU Pres. David Boren. For more information, go to www.rotary5770.com. Roatarian of the Day was Peggy Boldt who introduced our guest speaker. Dr. Paul W. Kincade of the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. He said the Foundation was created in 1950, with notable board members E.K. Gaylord, E.L. Gaylord, Dean McGee and Sen. Robert S. Kerr. Kincade discussed the Oklahoma Center for Adult Cell Research which is a consortium of Medical Center organizations as well as OU and OSU. The mission of the OCASCR is to catalyze researchers' work in numerous ways, leverage resources obtainable from traditional funding agencies, and help attract additional talent to the state of Oklahoma. Kincade is the scientific director of OCASCR. Ron Sanders reminded members about the Rotary-Kiwanis basketball game on Monday. You can reach Ron at 209-0576 for more information.
