4-26-2012 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha
Rotarian of the Day Chris Mosley presented the program at the 4-26-2012 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha.
The April 26, 2012 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha opened with a prayer, pledge and a very weak Roll Rotarian song.
Guests included Justin Farr and Wally Boyd, a visiting Rotarian looking for a new club home.
President Michael Oberlender reminded Rotarians there are four Friday's left in the school year. See Bill McVey if you can help greet freshman students at Chickasha High School on Friday's at 7:30 a.m.
Rotary Day Run chairman Cody White asked Rotarians to take brochures and signage to post in their businesses. He said sign up sheets were being circulated for t-shirts and race day work assignments. Cody said the shirts have already been ordered so if you have gained weight since last year you might have a problem.
Remember all hands on deck for the May 19 Rotary Day Run featuring a one-mile fun run/walk, the tradition 5K and new this year, a 10K run.
Rotarian of the day was Chris Mosley who also presented our program.
Chris showed two vintage videos aimed at promoting attendance starring Richard "Skipper" Varley and a cast of Rotarians, past and present.
The first video was entitled the Great Pumpkin and the second was It' s Wonderful, Life, Skipper.
The moral of the videos was that bad things can happen if you skip a Rotary meeting.
"If you are not here, you are missed," Chris said. "Blatant skipping is a problem."
Thanks, Chris, for a blast from the past that reinforces the need for consistent Rotary attendance.
The meeting adjourned after recitation of the Rotary 4-Way test.
