
The Rotary Club of Chickasha met Thursday, August 1, 2024, with Vice President Christy Martin presiding. Rotarian Rocky Roberson led the club in singing "God Bless America".
Guests in attendance included Blakely Bridges, a student at Sterling High School, and her mother. Bridges is a recipient of the H.W. Almen Rotary Scholarship.
Kyle Mosley, standing in for Rotarian of the Day Rick Croslin, introduced the speaker, Jace Johnson. Johnson is the Assistant Activities Director for Chickasha Public Schools as well as the head coach of the CHS girls' basketball team.
Johnson gave some background on his history at Chickasha schools, where he has worked for three years. He provided updates and answered questions from members about CHS athletics in general, including the new football field and track facilities, the new weight room and its availability to all athletes, recent successes, and the closing of the swim team.
Lunch was provided by Chicken Express.
