Chickasha Rotary Club 5.26.2016

Club attendance was low today, probably due to the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend.  Both President Brad and President-Elect Nathan were absent, and the meeting was chaired by Kory Kirkland.  Bob Hays stood in for Chris Mosley as Sergeant at Arms, and fined Judge Herndon for being in casual clothes.  Mitch led the club in a rendition of "You Never Can Tell".  

 

Cody White (Program Chair) filled in as Rotarian of the Day due to a canceled program.  Craig Buford, Buford Resources Real Estate and Auction was the speaker.  Mr. Buford is a successful Auctioneer, Real Estate Broker, Lobbyist, and Cattle Rancher.  Mr. Buford spent most of the time talking about his experience as a Lobbyist for the Community Bankers' Association of Oklahoma.  He told several interesting stories, and gave examples of bad bills that would have been passed if his organization had not stepped in to pressure the politicians.  He ended his talk with an antidote that "A victory today does not guarantee success tomorrow".
