Dr. Gayla Lutts, Superintendent of Canadian Valley Technology Center, spoke about Oklahoma's career tech system as a whole and about CV Tech specifically.

 
The March 9, 2023 meeting of the Rotary Club of Chickasha was called to order by President Lewis Knisley.
 
The Rotarian of the Day was Shawn Freie. She introduced the speaker, Dr. Gayla Lutts. Lutts is Superintendent of Canadian Valley Technology Center, which has campuses in Chickasha, El Reno, and Yukon; serving schools in Grady and Canadian counties.
 
 
The strategic priorities of CV Tech are continuous improvement, high expectations and accountability, inclusion/diversity and safety,  leadership and professional development, accreditation of the strategic plan, and district growth. There are 14 sending schools in the district, 7 of which send to the Chickasha campus. The Chickasha campus accounts for 421 full-time students; there are 1752 district-wide.
 
The tech center is adding and expanding programs to meet the needs of industries and communities. Two new programs being added to the Chickasha campus are hospitality and electrical trades.
