Program

The Rotarian of the Day was Jason Jarnagin. His speaker was Ty Pool, who represents Grady Memorial Hospital.

Pool observed that when he first returned to Chickasha to work at GMH, there were 21 practitioners on staff. Shortly thereafter, that number declined to 19. Now, with new key additions, the hospital has 27 practitioners on site.

The primary objective over recent years has been rebuilding the primary care core at the hospital. As a result, Pool said, they have been able to recruit new specialists as well. GMH has now added orthopedic and podiatry practices to the campus, at the newly renovated former admin building. In addition to having a full-time orthopedic surgeon on site—already a major gap filled in Grady County—the new department will also house a branch of Southwest Orthopedic from Oklahoma City.

The ribbon cutting for the new facility, which houses the new ortho and podiatry center, is October 8.

Lunch was provided by El Cheto Mexican Restaurant.
