Dan Andrulonis talked to Rotarians about the Celebrate Recovery program at First Baptist Church.
At the 1-20-2011 Rotary Club of Chickasha meeting Rotarian heard the poignant and inspirational story of Dan Andrulonis of Chickasha, who described the difficulties of living with loved ones with addictions. Dan and his wife, Cindy, were instrumental in starting Celebrate Recovery, a Christian-based program for addicts and their families. Dan, whose father was an alcoholic and whose son has struggled with addiction, talked about their problems but the impact of the entire family. He a co-dependency problem is when a person allowed a relationship with another person to interrupt your live. Dan said you must take care of yourself and realize you "can't fix" the person with the addiction. He said about 55 people a week -- addicts, spouses, children and other family members -- attend Celebrate Recovery. It meets every Monday at 7 p.m. More information is available at www.celebraterecovery.com. Guests at the meeting included Virginia Ramsey, wife of Rotarian Perry Ramsey. Prayer concerns include Steve LaForge and Dr. David Hall Sr. President Mark reminded people about the Feb. 18, bi-district Rotary meeting in Norman.
