Nathan reported on the Rotary Run. He showed an example of the shirt for the Run. He also sent a signup sheet for the shirt. If you want a shirt then signup for a shirt and you are encouraged pay for your shirt upfront. Signup for workers will be handed out next week.
Tom Adams, Rotarian of the Day, introduced his program James Chappel (community affairs manager) and Tony Shook (Plant Manager) with OG&E. He said he can't help you with your electric bill. Many chuckled. Steam Power Plants a Rankine Cycle Plant has an efficient of 30-35% and turn it into energy. The steam runs a turbine that produces the electricity. The Brayton cycle plant has an efficiency of 33-40% and turns that into energy. So they ended up putting the two together and the efficiently with to 45-62%.

So, by combining these two methods has created a more efficient way of producing energy. There is steam coming out of the tower even if you don't see it in the summer time. But they are cycling a large volume of water every minuet.
He then showed us some great pictures of the plant layout and the cutaway of a Gas Turbine. He then told us how all that works with a lot of really big words on how they turn heat energy into mechanical energy. Feels like can design 101. He then showed a cross section of a steam turbine and used more big words. Then a cross section of a turbine generator using an example of back in school making an electric magnate. The magnate energy generates the power. Well, that is the best I could understand of what he talked about.
