CPSF to host 25th anniversary basketball game, pitting the Rotary Club of Chickasha and the Kiwanis Club.
Twenty-five years ago the then-brand new Chickasha Public Schools Foundation held a basketball game at Myers Fieldhouse between teams made up of Kiwanis and Rotary Club members as part of the fledgling Foundation's first fund-raiser. On Monday, April 4, the Kiwanis-Rotary rivalry will be revived at the CHS Activity Center as part of the CPSF's 25th Anniversary celebration, complete with a number of players who were on those first teams. Organizer John Tointigh admitted that the hoops may not rival March Madness but promises a fun and entertaining night with some door prizes, contests and the introduction of basketball's first eight-ball. The tipoff will be at 7:30. Tickets are $5.00 at the door or you can purchase them in advance for $3.00 at the KOOL 105 office on the corner of Sixth and Chickasha. If you want to play for the Rotary team, call Ron Sanders at cell 209-0576. If you don't play, please come out to support those who do.
